Why I travel…

“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.”  ~ Maya Angelou

Through travel, I am exposed to things old and new, strange and familiar, beautiful and ugly, and everything in between.  Over the years, I have come to realize that with travel, I come to know things I could never learn within the pages of a book or watching National Geographic.  With knowledge, comes understanding, with understanding, comes acceptance.  Most importantly, with acceptance, comes peace.  Even with all the sadness and turmoil in the world, I still believe peace is possible.  And I believe it is my responsibility to become knowledgeable, understand, accept, and live in peace and share peace in whatever space I reside.

Thank you for joining me in this journey of exploration and quest for understanding.  I encourage you to sign up with your email to receive new posts.  I do not know where this trail will lead, but I do know it is exciting and will be full of adventure!
